nutrition counseling
Nutrition counseling is a one-on-one supportive process where you and your dietitian will:
- Explore your relationship with food & your body
- Identify areas where you might feel stuck, frustrated, or overwhelmed
- Create an individualized treatment plan together that includes goals to work towards that are meaningful to you
It’s here that we dig deep to uncover the things that may have negatively affected your relationship with food and/or your body, and it’s here that you will find a compassionate, knowledgeable, & caring person (that’s us!) to “sit in the suck” of it all with you and help guide you towards the fulfilled life you deserve to live.
Your initial consultation is usually 75-90 minutes long, and follow-up visits are typically 55 minutes. Most clients start out seeing their dietitian weekly, but as progress is made we may be able to increase our time between sessions and meet every-other-week or even once per month.
Nutrition therapy is not a short-term commitment. Most of us have spent years of our lives with disordered eating or an eating disorder. Similar to mental health counseling, it will take time and consistency to heal from these things. For this reason, most clients work with us for at least 6 months.

outpatient eating disorder care
We provide compassionate and individualized outpatient nutrition counseling for individuals and families affected by eating disorders. Our dietitians have extensive experience working with folks with eating disorders & disordered eating. In fact, most of our dietitians are Certified Eating Disorder Specialists (CEDS) through the International Association of Eating Disorder Professionals (IAEDP). This certification requires a minimum of 2 years to complete, the accrual of at least 2500 supervised practice hours in the eating disorder field by other expert-level clinicians, case studies, the completion of 4 intensive courses & accompanying certification exam, as well as required continued education in eating disorders.
Our dietitians work very closely with other eating disorder providers in the area, including therapists, physicians, treatment placement specialists, and recovery coaches. Even with this wrap-around support, sometimes a higher level of care becomes needed. Seeds Nutrition Counseling works with treatment centers all across Texas & beyond to help ensure you receive the absolute best care possible. There is genuinely nothing more important to us than your recovery and overall well-being. We will do everything we possibly can to ensure you get the outstanding care that you need (even if that’s not with us!).

telehealth
With the COVID-19 pandemic, many healthcare & mental health providers turned to offering telehealth services to continue to care for the patients. For some of us, this was a big shift in how we interacted with others, but despite this many of us came to realize how useful telehealth services could actually be.
We have continued to provide our services mostly through HIPAA-compliant telehealth platforms because of the feedback we’ve received from our clients. Most clients have found telehealth to be a great option that minimizes time off of work, reduces the number of missed classes at school, saves money on the cost of gas, decreases the stress of navigating rush hour traffic, and it reduces the stress that comes with trying to shuffle family schedules around to accommodate appointments.
We do have a Dallas location where we offer limited in-person sessions each week with several of our clinicians if you prefer to be seen in person. Just let us know!
Due to state licensure laws, Amy is currently able to see clients in Texas, Louisiana, Alabama, Arkansas, Arizona, California, Colorado, Michigan, and Virginia. If you don’t see your state listed here, please message me to see if I am able to provide services in your state.

No Surprises Act & Good Faith Estimates
The No Surprises Act when into effect on January 1, 2022, with the intention to ensure patients are aware of all costs of treatment to the best of the healthcare provider’s ability. The No Surprises Act protects people covered under group and individual health plans from receiving surprise medical bills when they receive most emergency services, non-emergency services from out-of-network providers at in-network facilities, and services from out-of-network air ambulance service providers. There has been much debate on how this will impact private practices, but since opening in 2019, we fully believe that being transparent in our pricing. We will be happy to provide you a Good Faith Estimate (GFE) upon request if you are utilizing out-of-network benefits or if you do not have insurance.
